SunChrom SunCollect MALDI Spotter

SunChrom SunCollect MALDI spotter / micro-fraction collector

The SunCollect is a versatile instrument designed to operate as both an HPLC effluent touch-off spotter for MALDI target spotting and a micro-fraction collector for collection of HPLC effluent into microtiter containers. The instrument is capable of spotting or collecting on plates or containers for most all of the MS manufacturers including Thermo, Bruker, ABI, and Mass Tech.

Custom plates are also easily defined in the system and can be operational with a simple menu driven procedure in a few minutes.
The SunCollect is capable of very fast spotting, 1 sec/spot. [click here to see spotting video]

Simple software allows for quick operational changes and simple new target inclusion. The intuitive software is easy to learn and controlled from just a few screens. The instrument can be externally started by switch closure from the LC and allows for multiple run spotting on single high density plates. [Fig A and B]

Accessories

Simultaneous spotting and collecting can be accomplished with a simple needle accessory combined with a splitter. A small portion of the HPLC effluent is spotted onto a MALDI plate with the majority of the flow split and going to a collection head on the accessory for deposition into a micro titer collection plate.

Tissue imaging by MALDI has become an extremely useful tool in determining placement of proteins in histological samples. The SunCollect offers a simple add-on accessory which allows for spraying protease and matrix solutions over the surface of a two dimensional tissue sample by pneumatic atomization. [Fig C]
